Pakistan Cricket Board to launch online talent hunt programme soon
The Pakistan Cricket Board has found a unique way to spot budding talent as it would launch a website where anybody, who thinks his cricket skills good, can post a short video of his batting or bowling skills and other details about himself and his career.
According to PTI report PCB will shortly launch the website. “These videos will then be viewed on a regular basis by the coaches at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) who will assess the talanted on display. If the coaches find anyone suitable for future consideration he will the be called to the NCA for further trial,” PTI quoted one board official.
According to the official the idea to launch the website was floated by PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan as he is fed up hearing the complaints that many deserving talent was ignored as the current talent spot mechanism is not capable of spoting talent from every nook and corner of the country.
PCB wants to expand its talent pool as well as wants to ensure that not single talent get wasted.
“The idea is to not only expand the base of raw talent around the country but to also ensure no deserving player (s) is ignored in future,” he said.
The official said that internet facilites is now available even the remotest part of Paksitan, so board is expecting strong response when the website is launched.
PCB recently has increased pressure on selection committee on unearthing new talent, and now currently Wasim Akram, country’s former bowling great, is supervising a 12 days training camp for young pacers in Karachi.
