Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar is one of the best bowlers of his generation. He had garnered plenty of fans across the world. Akhtar was a heartthrob to many women fans who followed cricket.
However, there is one girl who made him go madly in love. It was none other than renowned Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre. Indian actress Sonali Bendre made a name for herself during late 1990s and early 2000s across India showcasing her acting skills across languages.
After watching a film named “English Babu Desi Mem“, Shoaib Akhtar fell madly in love with her. As per a report in Economic Times, the cricketer had revealed in a chat show, he used to carry a photo of Sonali Bendre in his wallet.
Akhtar also used to have Sonali Bendre posters in his room. He also revealed if Sonali Bendre refuses his proposal, he would have to kidnap her then.

India Today got the opportunity to question Sonali Bendre about Shoaib Akthar. However, the actress had revealed that she is not a cricket fan and does not know anyone named Shoaib Akthar
“I don’t know any Pakistani cricketer named Shoaib Akhtar as I’m not a cricket fan at all.”

On the other hand, she is coming back from a serious cancer disease. She underwent chemotherapy for her high-grade metastatic cancer in New York.
“There is pain and you go through it and it is hard. The toughest part was the post the surgery. I have a scar which is 20 inches in the midriff. My sister hugged me when I was going, I said don’t be dramatic, I’m coming back.
“I think it was love that took me through it. We have to love ourselves to get through this. It was love that saw me through. For me spirituality is to love,” said Bendre at the India Today Conclave 2019.
It takes a lot of mental strength for anyone to overcome cancer. And Sonali Bendre proved her fighting spirit by overcoming this worst disease. We really do hope that she recovers to her former self after all the painful yards she took in chemo.
On the other hand, we feel sorry for Shoaib Akthar, who always was in awe of Sonali Bendre. Surely he would have come over that infatuation by now. The Pakistani cricketer is currently plying his trade as a cricket commentator and is doing a commendable job.
