Pakistan Are Hopeful To Replace India With Bangladesh or Sri Lanka For Home Series 1

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to host either Sri Lanka or Bangladesh later this year as the board is not sure of India playing in Pakistan despite the MOU signed between the countries earlier.

The cricket board has already pointed out that they had lost nearly $200 million in revenues as India have been reluctant to visit Pakistan for more than a decade now.

PCB’s Head of the executive board, Najam Sethi said: “Hopefully we will see either Bangladesh or Sri Lanka in Pakistan this winter.”

Pakistan will be hopeful of getting international cricket back to the country after managing to host Pakistan Super League final in Lahore on March 05. The cricket board is in constant touch with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka boards as they are hopeful that one of the countries will visit the cricket hungry country soon.

PCB have managed to cross all the hurdles to conducting PSL final peacefully on Lahore as they intended to send a strong message to all the cricket boards about the security within the country.

Sethi has also revealed that they are in talks with Sri Lanka over the tour and Bangladesh are ready to send a team of security experts to assess the security conditions in the country before making a decision.

India have managed their distance from Pakistan over the past decade after the Mumbai attacks in 2008. Both countries have not played a bilateral series since 2012 and India are not keen to tour Pakistan anytime soon as the tensions have been high over the past couple of years.

The recent attacks at Uri and Pathankot meant that there are almost zero chances of any bilateral series in the upcoming years as well. PCB are hopeful that Sri Lanka or Bangladesh will tour the country in winter later this year.
