Pakistan Cricket Board chief has given a tinge that it may go to endure with the ICC’s controversial revamp piloted by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Cricket Australia (CA) and England and Wales Cricket Board (EWCB), as it will be stood for the country’s cricket benefit. Pakistan is the only cricket playing nation left who does not support the ICC’s drastic revamp decision till now.

The head of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi said that they will support their place in the ICC meeting of the following month. He said, “We have to keep politics away from this issue. We throw to now see why nine countries are on one slope and we are standing alone in this matter. I don’t think this is about principles, it is about safeguarding our own self interests in the long run in world cricket,”

PCB chief Sethi had met the members of the cricket board of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka during the Asia Cup tournament in Dhaka. There it has been found that all other countries has muddled through to receive benefits by sustaining the changes in the ICC financial model.

“We are the only ones now passed on alone and whoever I have talked to says they also initially opposed the changes, but afterward travelled with it because they were earning a fortune by supporting these changes,” he uttered.

If PCB supports the ICC renovation model, it would be capable to play a bilateral series against all other nations playing Test Cricket, while Pakistan needs to play regularly against India. “The fact is every nation wants to play India because they suppose it takes them much needed revenues. It is a fact that not playing cricket with India is damaging to us,” he said.

When ICC decided in the two executive board meetings for the drastic and basal change in the financial model of it which will be driven by India, Australia and England, Pakistan got represented by Zaka Ashraf who later had been replaced by Najam Sethi last month, on the order of the Prime Minister.

“I didn’t go to these two important ICC meetings, but I have been briefed in detail on what took place in them and I have also talked to other tables to try to see what actually took place,” he reasoned.
