Pakistan PM Imran Khan Condoles With Asif Ali on the Demise of His Daughter, Noor Fatima
As Pakistan players were consoling their teammate and crestfallen father Asif Ali in Leeds following the passing of his two-year-old daughter Noor Fatima, who was battling with the stage IV cancer, country’s prime minister Imran Khan has offered condolences to the middle-order batsman.
Noor, who was flown to the United States (US) for the treatment breathed her last on Sunday, which further saw cricketing fraternity sending condolences to Ali, who has been the part of Pakistan’s five-match ODI series against England.
Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side has lost the series 4-0. However, on Monday (May 20) Pakistan has finalised the squad for the ODI showpiece.
The 1992 World Cup winning-skipper Imran has extended condolences on the sad demise of Ali’s daughter. He has also expressed sympathy with the family in this hour of grief.
He has also prayed to God for bringing comforts to Ali’s family following an immeasurable loss.
“My condolences and prayers go to Asif Ali & his family on the passing of his daughter from cancer. May Allah give them the strength to bear such a precious loss,” Imran tweeted from his official Twitter handle.

Besides, reports suggested Asif will return home for the last rites of his daughter.
Meanwhile, Asif, who alongside Mohammad Amir were reserve players for the World Cup, as the latter claimed a spot in the 15-man squad.
Earlier, the preliminary squad saw the omission of Junaid Khan and Faheem Ashraf from the list as Wahab Riaz has made the cut.
However, PCB introduced Ali in the middle-order line-up which subsequently saw Abid Ali failing to make it to the final 15.
During the squad announcement, Pakistan chief selector Inzamam-Ul-Haq reiterated it has had been a tough decision before snubbing Abid. Whereas, he asserted that the inclusion of Amir and Wahab is taken solely due to experience.
He also cited the reason for flat tracks in the United Kingdom (UK).
