Pakistan have included Mohammad Hafeez to the squad for the two-match Test series against Australia commencing from October 7 at the UAE.
Since his axing from the Asia Cup squad, Hafeez returned to domestic cricket and had been putting up performances. In his most recent outing, Hafeez scored a double hundred and picked four wickets to guide his team to a win. Hafeez has also been in form with the ball as he garnered him 12 wickets in three matches.
“The national selection committee and team management have decided to include Mohammad Hafeez for two-match Test series against Australia,” a PCB spokesperson said.
However, the 31-year-old cricketer’s last outing was in 2016 during the four-match Test series against England. The selectors dropped him owing to poor form with both bat and ball.

Meanwhile, the selection committee came under the scanner following their exit in the Asia Cup. They lost twice to India and Bangladesh in the Super Four to bow out of the tournament. The exclusion of Hafeez was the focal point of every discussion throughout the tournament.
