Pakistani fan of Virat Kohli arrested for hoisting Indian flag on his terrace.
Being a die-hard fan of a cricketer can sometimes prove to too costly. If you don’t believe this ask Umar Draz, from Okara district of Punjab province and you will get the answer. Umar is a die-hard Virat Kohli fan and expressing his love for the cricketer has landed him in jail. Umar has been arrested for hoisting the Indian flag (Yes Indian flag in Pakistan!) on his terrace after India’s win against Australia yesterday.
“We raided the house of Umar Draz and seized the Indian flag from his rooftop,” Muhammad Jamil, a police official, said.
He said the police have arrested Draz and registered a case under the Maintenance of Public Order. He was presented in court the same day and was remanded in police custody.
Draz is a big fan of Virat Kohli and after his bizarre arrest, Draz told the reporters “I am a big fan of Virat Kohli. I support the Indian team because of Kohli. Hoisting of Indian flag on the rooftop of house only shows my love for the Indian cricketer,”
Draz soon realised that showing his love for the Indian cricketer wasn’t the most intelligent thing to do and now he is urging the police to pardon him. Draz said that he should be “seen as an Indian cricketer’s fan and not as a spy”
Draz is also believed to have poster size images of Virat Kohli posted on his walls but I don’t think those posters will be there for too long.
