Coronavirus In Pakistan’s Camp, Six Tests Positive

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) informed that six members from Pakistan’s squad have tested positive for the coronavirus. However, they have not revealed the name of anyone.
As per New Zealand‘s protocol, they all have been moved to the quarantine arm of the managed isolation facility.
The outbreak of coronavirus in Pakistan’s camp has also exempted to train while they are in isolation until investigations have been completed.
Separately, NZC has also been made aware that some members of the Pakistan team had contravened protocols on the first day of managed isolation.
“We will be having discussions with the tourists to assist them in understanding the requirements.” NZC said in the official realesed statement.
The statement further added,” NZC considers public health and safety to be paramount in the hosting of international teams, and is supportive of the Ministry of Health and Government position.”
New Zealand Cricket also stated that it was disappointing from Pakistan’s squad.
Pakistan tour of New Zealand set to start from 18 December:
Pakistan has toured with a 34-men squad. Initially, the batsman Fakhar Zaman was included in the squad but he has been ruled out because he couldn’t recover from fever on time.
Meanwhile, the tour will begin with the three-match T20I series followed by two-match Test series. Before the start of the tour, New Zealand A and Pakistan A will play two four-day Tour matches.
Auckland and Hamilton will host the first and second T20I match while Napier will host the third T20I match. The first Test will be played from December 26 to December 30 at Bay Oval and Hagley Oval will host the last Test match from January 3 to January 7.
