Pakistan’s Major General Asif Ghafoor Takes Sly Dig At India After Usman Khawaja’s Heroics
Just when it looked like the dust is finally settling down after the dastardly Pulwama attack, Asif Ghafoor, Pakistan’s Major General Asif Ghafoor , has showed what Pakistan is all about. After an attack that claimed the lives of 44 CRPF personnels, Pakistan have showed every facet of theirs except class and honesty. And Ghafoor’s latest tweet pretty much proves what the country is all about.
While India are hellbent on ending every kind of relation with a country that harbours terrorism, the latter are busy focusing too much on what is going on in across the border. In his latest tweet Ghafoor has taken a dig at Team India with a cryptic message while praising Australia’s Pakistan-born batsman Usman Khawaja.
The left-handed batsman starred with the bat in the series, scoring two centuries and two fifties to help Australia win the five-match ODI series 3-2. In the fifth match, Khawaja scored 100 to help Australia score a competitive total of 273. In reply, India were all out for just 237.
Barring Rohit Sharma’s fifty, the other top-order batsmen including skipper Virat Kohli failed miserably as India found themselves reeling at 132 for 6. The game looked all but over at that stage. But Kedar Jadhav (44) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (46) had other plans as they looked to take India home. However, before the victory could come in sight, Pat Cummins broke their 91-run stand. On the very next delivery, Jhye Richardson dismissed Jadhav to reduce India to 223 for 8. India were eventually all out for 237.
Khawaja walked away with the Man of the Series award for scoring most number of runs in the series. And it gave Ghafoor an opportunity to post a tweet that reflected Pakistan’s true colours. He intentionally wrote Strike and Caps in capital to take a dig at the Air Strikes and Team India’s gesture to wear army caps to pay tribute to the armed forces.
“Very well played yet again #UsmanKhawaja Your 100 at excellent STRIKE rate made the difference. You gave excellent performance during last three consecutive ODI contests to CAP the series,” wrote Asif Ghafoor.
