The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is all set to get bigger and better as the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) registered outstation cricketers can register themselves for the player draft which is likely to be held in the second week of June, according to reports.
In its inaugural season last year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had not permitted the outstation stars to feature in the tournament. However, the league can attract some big names in its second season according to a report in The Times of India.
The news outlet claimed that a top source in TNCA mentioned that the TNCA registered outstation cricketers can register themselves for the upcoming players draft. The player registration forms are available at the TNCA office from May 6 and the last date for submission of form is June 10.
“We are opening the registrations for the draft from May 6. Though TNCA registered outstation players didn’t feature last time, they can register for the TNPL draft and we will include them in the list. We are figuring out on how to go about it,” the source told The Times Of India.
