Puducherry who is the new entrant in the domestic cricket has already set an excellent base for a grand entry.
After roping with Mumbai stalwart, Abhishek Nayar and Paras Dogra of Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry went for another significant move.
In the latest development, the new entrant is all set to take the services of Pankaj Singh. A seasoned campaigner, Pankaj Singh is the ex-skipper of Rajasthan.
The speedster has featured in two Tests and an ODI in the international arena. The 33-year old, Pankaj has a healthy experience in First-class cricket and has 427 wickets in 109 first-class games.
“Pankaj has been one the workhorses for Rajasthan ever since he made his debut for them back in 2004. His experience will come handy for us. Also, he remains a humble man and is divine with a strong work ethic despite having played for so many years on the domestic circuit. The young bowlers in the side will definitely get to learn a lot from him,” said a source close to the development.
The pace star is all torn up after being continuously ignored by national selectors. His switching may be considered as a tactical move from him.
“To be honest, I know that the chances of playing for India are very bleak now. So, I want to prove my mettle here for a new team. This way, I can even inspire a few youngsters,” Pankaj said.
“If things fall into place, I can come back. I would love to retire from Rajasthan. We have played enough cricket together, so it is good to reunite,” Pankaj added to his lines.
