India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant scored his maiden ODI fifty in the series opener against West Indies on 15th December. After his stunning knock in the game, his girlfriend Isha Negi posted a story on her Instagram and named him “The King”.
Rishabh Pant, who has been on the team selectors’ radar for quite some time, finally gave a performance that oozed out his confident personality. Although India lost their first ODI match against the Caribbean, Rishabh Pant gave his team a reason to celebrate, nevertheless.
Pant scored a bewitching 71 runs knock to help India post a total of 287 runs target for the visitors. The young keeper took his time on the crease to dig his feet for as long as possible. Coming to bat at fifth position after India’s opener Rohit Sharma was caught out, Pant partnered with Shreyas Iyer to sail India past 200 runs mark.
Nevertheless, India lost the game to the West Indies by eight wickets.

Ever since his failure at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 semi-final loss for India to New Zealand, Pant has been trying to work his way out on the field under the watchful eyes of the India team selectors. However, the cricketer receives full support from the coach Ravi Shastri, skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and other members of the team.
Nevertheless, his continuing dismissal with the bat and poor glove-work had seen the social media people giving him a hard time to swallow. His every single mistake is watched and instantly trolled over the social media platforms.
And amidst of all, his girlfriend Isha Negi have been his constant support. Recently she took to Instagram with a screenshot of India’s final score – a graphic of BCCI’s official social media page and showed her love for Pant calling him The King.
