Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) is finding an option which can be the opening partner of Virat Kohli in the upcoming edition. The Franchise is also confused between two players and has asked the fans to answer it. RCB player Parthiv Patel‘s witty answer to that question has impressed everyone.
The Gujarat player Parthiv Patel joined RCB in 2018 (earlier played for this team in 2014) and since then has played 20 matches for the franchise. In IPL 2019, he had a big contribution with his bat. The wicket-keeper batsman scored 373 runs in 14 matches with the striking rate of 139.17. However, the franchise finished last in the points table of the last edition.
Now, RCB is finding the combination which can give them the best output in the forthcoming IPL edition. Currently, RCB player Devdutt Padikkal, top-order batsman, has gained the lame light on the domestic side. The franchise has now a tricky task to select between Devdutt Padikkal and Parthiv Patel for the opening position.
The Karnataka top-order batsman is the leading scorer in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In 10 matches played, he has scored 461 runs at the striking rate of 173.96. Padikkal was bought by RCB in 2019 for INR 20 lacs but didn’t get the chance to play for the team.
Why do u want us to give away 239 runs – Parthiv Patel
The Bangalore-based franchise has left the question to be answered by the fans. On Instagram, the franchise giving the option of Parthiv Patel and Devdutt Padikkal asked the fans who would they prefer to open the innings alongside Virat Kohli if the target is 240.
An apathetic Parthiv then hilariously asked the franchise why do they want the team to give the opposition as much as 239 in 20 overs.
