PCB chief Najam Sethi says half of all PSL 4 matches will be held in Pakistan
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi has made the revelation that PCB has received a nod to hold half of the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixtures in Karachi and Lahore, next year (2019).
However Sethi was of the opinion that the stadiums must prepare themselves in advance, He further added that the nationwide security has to be of top-notch, in order to make sure that the proposal takes place.
Sethi also added that the board would also ensure that the stadiums in Peshawar and Islamabad are ready. Sethi who was present at Karachi, the venue for the final of the third edition of the tournament also gave green signal to the idea of holding doubleheaders on weekends in the 2019 edition of the Pakistan Super League.
Top-brass Sethi further stated that the PSL matches will be held in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday and Friday while the matches will shift to Pakistan on Saturdays and Sundays.
Najam Sethi quipped that it is not possible for them to host any more foreign teams following the PSL Final.
The Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi will lock horns on 25th March at the National Stadium in Karachi.
“The PSL final is happening in Karachi. After that, we have the West Indies series. After that, we have no more space. We’re going abroad to play, but along with this, we are trying to find a window in August or September to play five to seven matches with the West Indies and Bangladesh in Houston and Florida. But that hasn’t been finalised as yet,” Sethi was quoted as saying by the Dawn.
