The PCB will distribute the prize money among the players, who have had been the part of a 50-over campaign which includes fast bowler Wahab Riaz.

The Sarfraz Ahmed-led Men in Green were crowned as the Champions of 2017 ICC Champions Trophy after steamrolling arch-rivals India – to win much-awaited grand finale by 180 runs while riding on the magnificent century of left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman, before left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir left the best top-order clueless when he bagged three crucial wickets in quick succession.

Interestingly, it was Sarfraz’s first major ICC event as a skipper after Azhar Ali tendered his resignation as 50-over skipper for Pakistan.

The left-arm speedster Riaz was forced to return to home after picking an ankle injury during the first game of Pakistan at Edgbaston against India on June 4.

The reports suggest that the prize money was exempted from the taxes and the amount would further be shared among 16 players after being divided into 17 shares, as the team management is also scheduled to receive the hefty amount.

The Patron of the PCB, Nawaz Sharif, who is the Prime Minister of Pakistan earlier, announced the cash prize of PKR 10 million when Pakistan claimed the trophy at The Kia Oval.

The squad was given a warm welcome by Sharif, as the unpredictable team also improved their ICC One-day International rankings while settling at number six on the table.

Moreover, the prize money was also offered to the winning squad by private firms back in Pakistan which included luxury cars, plots and gift hampers, as several programmes were organised to felicitate the members of winning squad following the heroic welcome.

According to the fresh estimates, each member of the squad is bound to receive Rs 13.5 million, after the all-round performance from the players earned the massive praise from cricketing world.

On the other side, the chief selector of the Pakistan national team Inzamam-Ul-Haq, who is on the forefront to provide a platform to the rising talent, was also bound to receive the amount of Rs 10 million, as management and coaches were bound to receive the amount of INR 41 lakh and 20 lakh respectively.
