The Board of Governers of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given approval to take a legal action against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for breaching the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and honouring the FTP agreement signed between the two countries.

India and Pakistan were set to play bilateral series but the BCCI didn’t accept the PCB’s request to play the series due to the bitter relation between the two countries. Since then, the PCB has been complaining and alleging that the BCCI hasn’t followed the MOU.

On Friday, after the meet, the PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan and Head of executive committee and PSL Chairman Najam Sethi addressed media and informed the Board of Governers have given the Board approval to follow the legal way for seeking compensation from the BCCI for not obeying the contract.

“We will start legal consultations soon over the matter as the BOG has today given approval. The fact is that the BCCI signed an MOU document with us to play six bilateral series between 2015 and 2022,” Shahryar Khan told media.

The BCCI has always taken a tough stand against Pakistan due to the bitter political relations between the two countries but in the last meet of Asian Cricket Council, BCCI President Anurag Thakur himself floated the idea of a triangular or quadrangular series involving India, Pakistan and other teams. Any official announcement is yet to be made over this.
