Shahryar Khan, the Chief of Pakistan Cricket Board has said that they are ready to take action against BCCI for violating Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU), according to which India was to play at leat two home series against Pakistan,
“Our legal preparations are complete but first we will take up the issue of the scheduled series with India in November-December this year at the ICC meeting next month. We want to first talk with the new representatives of Indian cricket board in the ICC meeting and ask them about the status of the scheduled series under the MOU signed between both boards in 2014,” Khan told PTI.
“We have lost at least two home series against India and that calculates to millions of dollars in revenues for us. We have not ruled out legal processes to be compensated for our huge losses caused by the refusal of India to play us,” he added.
Khan has said that they will be taking up to matter in the ICC meet to be held in April before taking an action against BCCI.
The sour relation between two countries has not allowed any sort of bilateral series since 2007 barring the limited overs series in the year 2012/13 played in India.
Earlier, BCCI took a quite hard stand against PCB as Anurag Thakur, the former BCCI President said that Indian team will not play Pakistan in ICC tournaments and will instead award points to them. However, later, it was Thakur who floated the idea of a triangular or quadrangular series involving Pakistan as one of the teams.
The further decision or stand of PCB will be judged upon the ruling of ICC on the matter.
