Today was the 20th match of the Big Bash League 2014-15. Perth Scorchers had the match in control from the beginning. They bowled first and took wickets at regular intervals and while batting destroyed the bowlers and won by 8 wickets. Here are the Hits and Flops of the match:
Hits of the Day:
1. Nathan Reardon
Nathan Reardon stood tall today while other failed. He came out to bat in the middle overs and lead his team till the last ball. He scored a half century. His 52 runs came from 40 balls with a strike rate of 130. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes.
2. Brad Hogg
Brad Hogg has been showing great and consistent performances lately. Today also he was the best. His bowling outsmarted the batsmen. In his 4 overs he gave only 14 runs with an economy of 3.5. And moreover took 2 wickets.
3. Michael Carberry
Michael Carberry rose to the top today. He was unbeatable and finished the game in style by hitting a four. He indeed was the top scorer today and indeed the man of the match. He scored 77 runs from 37 balls. His strike rate was 208.1 and hit 6 fours and 6 sixes.
4. Adam Voges
Adam Voges, the skipper, really had a great knock today. He scored some valuable runs and had a great partnership and led his team to the victory. He scored 35 runs from 37 balls. His strike rate was 94.6 and hit 2 fours.
Flops of the Day:
1. Chris Lynn
Chris Lynn was not in good form and luck today. He didn’t last long and didn’t score good runs. He scored only 14 runs from 19 balls. He had similar poor performance in the last game.
2. Yasir Arafat
Yasir Arafat was very expensive today and also unsuccessful. In his 4 overs he gave away 38 runs with an economy of 9.5. And didn’t pick any wickets.
3. Ryan Duffield
Ryan Duffield was very expensive today. In fact he was the 2nd most expensive bowler today. Although he picked up a wicket but it didn’t prove quite helpful. In 3 overs he gave 30 runs with an economy of 10.
4. Mark Steketee
Mark Steketee was too very expensive. He bowled the last over which gave Perth Scorchers a victory. In just 2.5 overs he gave 25 runs with an economy of 8.8 and was unable to pick any wicket.
