Peshawar Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy, who has been an entertainer on-and-off the field had made a bold announcement in a video message by saying the Peshawar Zalmi players will shave off their heads if they went on to win the historic trophy of the second edition of the PSL tonight in front of the sold-out Lahore crowd against Quetta Gladiators.
“If Peshawar wins the final then all Zalmi players will shave their heads and even the boss,” Sammy said in a video message.
The 34-year-old West Indies all-rounder was seen alongside team mentor Younis Khan and Zalmi owner Javed Afridi in a video and Sammy went on to say ‘boss’ (Javed) will also celebrate the victory by shaving his head.
While talking to Pakistan Test veteran Younus, Sammy asked him would you like to shave your head as well as your beard for what he received a nod from the team mentor.
The Saint Lucia-born Sammy said Zalmi is known as ‘Jawan’ before adding with tongue-in-cheek that Wahab Riaz does not fall on that list.
The closing ceremony would definitely enthral the cricket-starved fans at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore which has been literally turned into a garrison to thwart any untoward incident during the Pakistan Super League final.
The action begins for the much-awaited final would be followed by the bat and a ball contest on Sunday night (March 5).
However, earlier the ceremony had kicked-off with the parachutists making a dramatic entry into the stadium.
