Virat Kohli-led Indian team is getting ready to play the T20I and ODI series against West Indies. The home series will start with the first T20I match scheduled in Hyderabad on 6th December. This will be the second time this year that the two teams will face each other in T20I and ODI series. Earlier, when India toured Caribbean land in August-September, the host lost the series across all the formats.

In August, Virat Kohli and Co. had badly defeated the Windies as they managed to clean sweep them in T20I and Test series and also won the three-match ODI series by 2-0. During that tour, Virat Kohli scored 106 runs in three T20I matches and he was the highest scorer in the ODI with 234 runs. To pick the wicket of Virat Kohli will be a difficult task for the visitors in the forthcoming limited-overs series.

West Indies coach Phil Simmons has suggested some ways to tackle Virat Kohli in the field. He believes that to pick the wicket of the Indian skipper is a tough task. Simmons said that the best strategy would be to let Kohli have a century and bowl at the rest of the batsmen.

“One, I can make him (Kohli) bat with a stump. Two, we can sign a book and in the ODIs, we can give him a 100 and bowl at the rest of the players or we can make sure that our plans to him are spot on,” said Simmons.

We can make sure that the bowlers don’t get too scared of Virat Kohli – Phil Simmons

It looks that every country faces difficulty to dismiss the swashbuckling batsman. Simons has another different approach to bowl out skipper. His next idea is that two bowlers can bowl at the same time to pick the wicket of the star batsman.

“We can make sure that the bowlers don’t get too scared of him. But in the end, maybe two can bowl at him at the same time. You never know what can happen but it’s a difficult proposition to get Virat Kohli out,” he added.
