The record for most number of boundaries hit by a player in an ODI innings is held by Rohit Sharma, when he played the magnificent innings of 264 against Sri Lanka and hit 33 boundaries in the course and also sent the ball 9 times for the maximum.
2nd on the list is Sachin Tendulkar, he hit 25 boundaries when he hit the first ever double century in ODI cricket. The innings of Martin Guptill is 5th in the innings.
This was all about boundaries, if we take a look at players to hit most number of sixes in an ODI innings, the first place is jointly held by Rohit Sharma, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle for 16 sixes each in their innings of 209, 149 and 215 respectively.
With the cricketing rules getting easier for batsmen, the record is set to get better in the time to come. With the semi-final and final of World Cup yet to come, do you think these records would be bettered in this World Cup itself? If yes, then who do you think would do it? AB de Villiers? Virat Kohli? Brendon McCullum or David Warner?
