The ‘overrated’ Pawan Negi has stiff competition to beat in the Royal Challengers’ squad. Yuzvendra Chahal, Tabraiz Shamsi, Samuel Badree and Iqbal Abdullah are no ordinary names to compete as a left arm spinner with limited reputation.
Also, Kohli generally likes to go with only one frontline spinner and last season Chahal, Abdullah and Shamsi fulfilled the role. Now with Badree returning, Negi finds himself standing last in the ‘preferred spinner’s’ list. He would be lucky to get a few games but any below par performance would certainly impact his chances of maintaining his place in XI.
