In the modern era of Cricket, high scores are seen quite often. Also, it is seen that totals with over 300 runs are being chased quite comfortably. There have been totals of over 400 runs in a 50-over game for a number of times and South Africa now leads the chart for posing the total of over 400 runs in ODIs for the most number of times.

In fact, it was South Africa back in 2004, who made this epic chase of 434 runs against Australia. This happens to be the highest chase in ODIs till date. India stands second in the list for the number of posing totals of over 400 runs.

Now, let us draw our concentration in the players who were involved in for the most number of times in their team’s posing up scores of above 400.

– Suresh Raina – 4 Times: The brilliant left handed middle order batsman of India has been a part of the team when the team went on to score a total of over 400 runs in an ODI innings. He was also a member of the team back in 2013 in the home series against Australia where plenty of high scores were registered.

– Virat Kohli – 4 Times: He has been a part of the team when the team went on to score over 400 runs. He scored a brilliant half century in India’s last total of over 400 runs where Rohit Sharma scored 264 runs in the last November.

– Virender Sehwag – 4 Times: The opening batsman of India was even involved for a number of times when India scored a total of over 400 runs. Of course, once it was solely because of him that India managed to reach the total of over 400 runs back in December, 2011 where he went onto score a double century in that match against West Indies.

– AB de Villiers – 4 Times: For a total of 4 times, AB de Villiers had been a part of the team when South Africa scored a total of over 400 runs in ODI cricket. And two of the four came in this World Cup against West Indies and Ireland in South Africa’s consecutive games. Of course, the one against West Indies was indeed special for De Villiers where he went onto smash a total of 162 runs off 66 deliveries which is truly surprising.
