Consistency in cricket is a measure of a cricketer’s performances in the game. A batsman is considered consistent if he is amongst runs and a bowler is considered consistent if he is amongst wickets. There is huge dip in a batsman’s performance graph when he gets dismissed at low scores especially at DUCKS. In this article we are to explore the list of players who have the most consecutive international innings without a DUCK. Here it goes:
1. Rahul Dravid (173): The Wall of India had been one of the most consistent players of the game and he was the pivotal character and also the anchor of the Indian innings during his career. It is also a fact that he was dismissed as Run Out in the 174th innings in the VB series in 2004.
2. Sachin Tendulkar(136): When there are some list of some batting records, one name is bound to be there. That is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. He makes his name into the list and he was perhaps the best opening batsman India have ever produced.
3. Alec Stewart(135): The former England wicket-keeper and captain makes his place into the list. He came out to bat late in the middle order and used to play some valuable knocks for his team at a consistent basis.
4. Carl Hooper(122): The former West Indian middle order batsman and Captain, Carl Hooper makes his place in the list. He was quite a consistent player and at a time when every other West Indian batsmen failed, Carl Hooper anchored the innings.
5. Jeremy Coney(117): The former Kiwi all-rounder makes his place in the list. He was a great batsman during his days and played a total of 88 ODIs and 52 tests. He was pretty much consistent too.
6. Javed Miandad(112): One of the best batsmen Pakistan have ever produced. He was a match winning batsman for Pakistan and rescued them from no where at crucial times. He was a brilliant stroke player of the ball and was equally consistent too.
7. Faf Du Plessis (108): He is the only non-former player in the list. The South African batsman forms a part of the South African batting strength and he has proved his brilliance in quite a number of occasions. He has 108 consecutive innings without a duck before being dismissed by Kemar Roach.
8. Mohammad Yousuf(103): He remained the centre of reliability of the Pakistani middle order for a significant amount of time. He seldom remained out of form and he scored big knocks quite regularly. It is no surprise that his name is in the list.
