In Cricket, a century is considered to be pretty much valuable for a player. Also, the first century of a player in international Cricket is by no doubt a memorable one. And as a matter of fact, for the past years in Cricket, some players managed to convert their debutant hundreds into real big ones. In this very article, we present you with a list of players with their highest maiden centuries in ODIs.

  1. Charles Coventry, Zimbabwe, 194*: The Zimbabwean middle order batsman struck his maiden century in 2009 and that was a record breaking one. He equalled Saeed Anwar’s score of 194 which was the then highest score by an individual in an ODI innings. The match was against Bangladesh and unfortunately, Zimbabwe lost the match despite of such a valiant knock.

  1. Paul Stirling, Ireland, 177: The Irish opening batsman struck this huge knock against Canada in September, 2010. He scored 177 runs off 134 deliveries with 21 fours and 5 sixes. Ireland won that match by a margin of 92 runs.

  1. Kapil Dev, India, 175*: Kapil Dev’s knock of unbeaten 175 runs in the 1983 World Cup is still considered to be one of the greatest ODI knocks in the history of the game. It was a group stage match and India were struggling at the score of 17 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Kapil Dev rescued India in a single handed manner. He took 138 balls to reach to 175 runs.

  1. Calum MacLeod, Scotland, 175: The Scottish batsman played the brilliant knock of 175 runs against Canada in the World Cup qualifier game in the previous year. He scored 175 runs off 141 deliveries.

  1. Lou Vincent, New Zealand, 172: The former opening batsman of New Zealand struck this mammoth knock of 172 runs against Zimbabwe back in 2005. In the match, New Zealand won quite comfortably.

  1. Glenn Turner, New Zealand, 171: The former New Zealand batsman struck this mammoth knock in New Zealand’s first game in the history of ICC World Cup way back in the year 1975. This happened to be his career best score too.

  1. Luke Ronchi, New Zealand, 170*: This score is the most recent one. In a match against Sri Lanka in January this year, Luke Ronchi struck this brilliant knock. He was also involved in a record breaking 6th wicket stand for New Zealand in that very game. Eventually from being 90 for 5, New Zealand went on to score 360 runs.
