Faf du Plessis, before being dismissed by Kemar Roach in the first innings of the first Test at Centurion, has played 108 innings without getting out for a duck. He is the only batsman to play over 100 innings before being dismissed for his first duck in International cricket.
Previously, his teammate and close friend AB de Villiers held the record for playing maximum innings before getting out for zero in the first time in his career. De Villiers has played 84 innings and is followed by Geraint Jones, Brad Haddin and Denesh Ramdin, who had played 71, 69 and 62 innings respectively.

Faf du Plessis has also played 108 innings without getting out for a duck in International cricket, the seventh highest among the batsmen with more than 100 innings in doing so. There are only 8 batsmen who played over 100 innings without a duck and those batsmen are Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Javed Miandad, Mohammad Yousuf, Carl Hooper, Alec Stewart and Jeremy Coney apart from Faf du Plessis.
Du Plessis made his ODI debut against India in 2010 and his test debut was against Australia in 2012. This is his first debut in International cricket in which he had played 28 Test innings, 60 ODI innings and 20 Twenty20 innings before getting out for zero.
