The status of cricket and cricketers in India is quite confusing. In this cricket-crazy nation, where fans treat the players as demigods, it takes just one bad performance from a player to become a villain. In fact, the fans are so fickle-minded that they tend to go by recent events rather than considering a player’s performances in the past. And the latest incident on Twitter between India opener KL Rahul and a fan is the best example of that.
Just a week ago before the first Test against Australia, the Indian team had become the toast of the nation. Virat Kohli’s men were undefeated in their last 19 Tests and reached the pinnacle of Test cricket before their incredible unbeaten run came to an end after suffering a humiliating 333-run defeat. And ever since the loss, the fans have been severely criticising them for the loss, ignoring their brilliant performance in the last couple of years. And KL Rahul was also not spared by one of the fans.
The incident happened when the opening batsman expressed his excitement after his teammate R Ashwin followed him on Twitter.
Oh my my.. what a start to the day? got the legend @ashwinravi99 to follow me. #humbled #blessed pic.twitter.com/Lyf8hXlNhA

And as soon as he tweeted it, one fan advised him to concentrate more on scoring runs.
ye sab chhodo .. runs kaise bane uspe dhyan de ..

However, the Indian batsman stole the show with a cheeky reply. He tweeted:
Plz come and teach us bhai. Im sure aapko pata hain kaise banate hain runs. https://t.co/KyiuAWFusz
