Pollard, Ramdin axed from West Indies ODI squad! 1

In the latest news which comes from WICB, the selectors have decided to drop all-rounder Kieron Pollard and Denesh Ramdin for the upcoming tri-series scheduled to be in Zimbabwe. The tri-series also features Sri Lanka as the third team, West Indies, and Zimbabwe being the other two teams.

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, both the players have been informed of them being axed. In fact, it is Courtney Browne, the chairman of selectors who has informed both the players via e-mail.

Both have been dropped following the whitewash of West Indies cricket team against Pakistan in U.A.E. west Indies lost the 3 match ODI series by a margin of 0-3, they also lost the T20 series that was played prior to the one-dayers. Both these players had an awful tourney as Pollard and Ramdin could just score 42 and 79 runs respectively in three games played by them.  Pollard failed miserably with the ball as he could just scalp one wicket at an average of 97.00.

Pollard exclusion has come as a surprise despite his failure in the previous series as he was quite an instrumental force in the tri-series against South Africa and Australia. He scored 205 runs in that series at an average of 41.

Ramdin exclusion was expected as he has not been able to do justice with the number of chances given to him. He is yet to react to this exclusion and a reaction from him is inevitable as he blasted out on the new chairman of selectors after he was informed about him being axed from the home Test series against West Indies.

Though, excluding both these players, is the need of the hour but the rate which West is ignoring experience at expense of raw talent, we may see some more bad times for Wet Indies in future.
