Pragyan Ojha, former Indian spinner believes that SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) will have a little bit of edge over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) due to their winning momentum when the two sides meet in IPL 2020 Eliminator on Friday (November 6).

Hyderabad head into Eliminator on the back three back to back consecutive wins including a 10-wicket triumph over finalists MI to seal their play-offs berth. However, Virat Kohli’s RCB go into the Eliminator on a shaky note, having tasted defeat in their last four IPL 2020 matches and only got into the top four by virtue of a better net run-rate.

Pragyan Ojha: SunRisers Hyderabad Have Momentum And Edge Over Bangalore

Pragyan Ojha pointed out that Abu Dhabi has been a very good venue for Hyderabad where they tasted success by winning two out of three matches.  In terms of games between the two sides, SRH have a slender 9-7 lead by virtue of their triumph the last time these sides met which saw them winning by five wickets after defeating by 10 runs in 3rd match and the first encounter between the two teams in IPL 2020.

“I think both are very good at handling the pressure. If you look at the stats, RCB has lost four games but if you look at SRH, they have been winning. And I tell you it’s all about the momentum you get. I think if you talk about momentum it’s SRH which has a little bit of edge over RCB,” Pragyan Ojha told Sports Today.

“But saying that it’s a very important point, who handles pressure well, who forgets their past and thinks that this is the final game. From here on we have got two more games to go after this.”

“Abu Dhabi has been a very good venue for SRH. They have played three, won two. And RCB, it’s been fifty-fifty as they have lost two and won two. Whoever uses the conditions well, whoever reads the wicket and the dimensions well will have an advantage,” Ojha added.

Sandeep Sharma has dismissed Virat Kohli seven tines which is the most in the tournament. RCB are yet to score 50 runs or above in the death overs besides losing too many wickets while Chris Morris has taken only 2 wickets in the last 4 games.

Pragyan Ojha: Bangalore Must Make Bold Decisions To Win

Pragyan Ojha also said that RCB has a fragile middle order, and the management needs to take some bold decisions to boost it by changing the openers or bring in experienced cricketers like Moeen Ali in the middle order. Pragyan Ojha recommended RCB to promote Virat Kohli as an opener and get Aaron Finch in the middle order.

“RCB have to take some bold decisions. Virat Kohli can open and get Aaron Finch in the middle. It gives them a solid boost.”

SRH will take on the RCB in the IPL 2020 Eliminator at Abu Dhabi that would see one of the two sides knocked out of the competition. While SRH skipper David Warner is 2nd highest run-scorer with 529 runs in 14 matches averaging 44.08, RCB skipper Virat Kohli is 8th highest run-scorer with 460 runs in the same number of matches averaging 46.

Among bowlers, spinners Yuzvendra Chahal of RCB has 20 wickets while Rashid Khan of SRH has 19 wickets from 14 matches. Aaron Finch of RCB has only 236 runs in 11 matches averaging 21.45. Wriddhiman Saha of SRH has played only 4 games but may open again as he has 214 runs from 4 matches averaging 71.33 with 2 fifties.
