The best aspect about Sunrisers Hyderabad’s demolishing 10 wicket win over the Gujarat Lions was the form displayed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The swing sensation, who seemed to be lost since the last year or so, finally showed glimpses of his good old self, as his accuracy was just too much to handle for the Gujarat Lions.

David Warner on winning the toss had no hesitation in bowling first, and Bhuvneshwar responded immediately by casting Aaron Finch with a peach of a delivery. Barring skipper Suresh Raina, the hosts never got going and kept on losing wickets at the crucial junctures. The target of 136 was never going to be enough on a track as flat as the one at Rajkot, and the Sunrisers just proved that right. The visitors won the game with 10 wickets and 31 deliveries to spare.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling display where he took 4 wickets. “Finch’s wicket was a big boost because he was scoring runs for them. We were looking to get him out early because their team is heavily dependent on a few batsmen. Swinging the ball is my strength and I always look to do that. I try to get early wickets to put the opposition on the back foot,” said Kumar.

The Indian pacer also credited left arm pacers Barinder Sran and Mustafizur Rahman for their valuable support and said, “Sran swings it up front and Mustafizur bowls very good slower balls and bowling at death with him is an amazing experience. No one can bowl the way he bowls. Happy with the win because we were under pressure after the first two losses, but sometimes pressure brings the best out of you.”

Skipper David Warner was ecstatic with his second win on the trot and praised the bowlers for their efforts. “I have to give credit to the bowlers. Gave us the opportunity to win, and the way we judged the situation, getting their in 14 odd overs, was fantastic. I felt the ball kept a little bit low. We knew it would be two-paced and the ball didn’t get up much. Bhuvi’s change of pace is amazing and Mustafizur is very hard to hit, his change of pace is amazing. I faced him first in Bangalore and he knocked my blocks off,” said Warner.
