This match will be a fight between an explosive batting line up of Royal Challengers and bowling line up of Delhi Daredevils.
PREVIOUS YEAR CLASHES
The first time they met was in the second match of the tournament played at Sharjah on 17th April. This match was low scoring affair. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to field. Delhi Daredevils lost 4 early wickets at the score of 35. The partnership between Duminy and Taylor made fighting fiftes. Delhi Daredevils scored 145 for 4 in 20 overs. While Chasing Royal Challengers Bangalore lost an early wicket of Maddinson. Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli put up 58 runs partnership. After Parthiv Patel got out De Villers and Virat Kohli made sure that Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match easily. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match by 8 wickets with 20 balls to spare.
After 26 days they met again but this time in Bangalore. It was a high scoring match. Royal Challengers Bangalore openers struggled and were 94 for 3 in 12 overs. Yuvraj Singh and AB De Villers smashed the Delhi bowlers to all parts of ground. Yuvraj Singh scored a quick fire 68 off 29 balls and AB De Villers 33 off 17 helped Royal Challengers Bangalore to post a competitive 186 for 4 in 20 overs. While Chasing they lost 2 early wickets of Vijay and De Kock. Agarwal, Pietersen and Duminy scored some 31,33 and 48 respectively. Kedar Jadhav tried but it was not enough for Delhi to win the match. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match by 16 runs. Delhi scored 170 for 7.
Virat Kohli did not have a great IPL so far but against Rajasthan Royals chasing 130 he played little slow when Gayle was hitting runs. After Gayle was out Kohli and De villers played sensibly. Virat Kohli scored 62 and gained back some confidence. Against Delhi Daredevils, he must take the charge and do not allow Delhi to dominate the game from the start.
Mitchell Starc was the best bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous match against Rajasthan Royals. He bowled brilliant line and length, created pressure on the batsmen. In the death overs he was special with ball picking wickets and finished with 3 for 22 in 4 overs. Against Delhi Daredevils he needs to repeat the same performance.
JP Duminy was at his best against Mumbai Indians. He came at the loss of Mayank Aggarwal in the first over. He took some time to settle and hit the loose balls away for boundaries. After settling in Duminy took the bowlers away for runs. He remained not out on 78 and helped Delhi to score 190. Against Royal Challengers Bangalore he needs to lead from the front and continue to bat the same way that he did against Mumbai Indians.
Imran Tahir was brilliant with his leg spin against Mumbai Indians. He did not allow the batsmen to score runs freely. In the end overs he picked 3 wickets to finish with 3 for 22 in 4 overs. He is leading wicket taker in the tournament so far. Against a top quality batting line up his bowling will help Delhi to restrict the Royal Challengers Bangalore batting or chasing he needs to stop the run flow.
