Prithvi Shaw Named In Mumbai’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Squad

After spending over three months on the sidelines while recovering from an ankle injury, Prithvi Shaw is now all set to return to action. The highly-rated opener’s hopes of making a mark in Australia was ended in a heartbreaking manner due to the injury. Shaw, who had scored a blistering century on his Test debut last year, twisted his ankle while fielding in the tour game against Cricket Australia XI.

Shaw had to be rushed to hospital, where it was discovered that he had torn his ligament. The team-management initially thought that Shaw would recover through the course of the series but he could not and eventually missed the entire series. He was ruled out of the series after the second Test and was replaced by Mayank Agarwal. The 19-year old later spent considerable time undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.
