The Chairman of Pakistan Super League Najam Sethi is hopeful that the final of the second season of PSL will be played in their home country i.e. Pakistan. “We will try our best to stage the final of the second edition of PSL in Pakistan,” Sethi said on after the PSL meeting. “We are buoyed by the success of PSL last year and things are now getting into an exciting phase for season two. I can promise we will leave no stone unturned in bringing unparalleled cricketainment to the fans.” Said a hopeful Najam Sethi.
The first season of PSL was played in Dubai and Sharjah. A total number of five teams participated in the first edition of PSL. Islamabad United emerged as the winner of the first edition of the league as the team defeated Quetta Gladiators in the final of the league. The league was quite a success as PCB earned a profit of 2.6 Million through this tournament. The tournament was much enjoyed and liked in the Pakistan too but there was no telecast here in India.
The statement from PSL chairman is a big statement from him as we know the players will be reluctant to travel to Pakistan. Though Zimbabwe team visited Pakistan last year but still hoping for same courtesy from other teams is a tough task. There was a rumour that West Indies team might visit Pakistan this year but all the air was cleared after it was announced that the matches will be played in U.A.E.
The terrorist attack on Sri Lankan players is a stain which the Pakistan can never remove from their face. They have to face the consequences of the wrong deeds done by their security forces.
To take a note the Sri Lankan players are also part of PSL franchises, will they travel to Pakistan if the decision is accepted? The fate of this hope will be decided in time to come but it can be safely assumed that there is very little chance of the decision being shown a green signal.
