Recently Pakistan Cricket Board announced some positive events of Pakistan Super League (PSL). Pakistan Cricket Board has initiated this PSL process before, but it was interrupted for some serious reasons. Time constraint was one of the main reasons for cancelling the process to award wholesale rights of its planned Pakistan Super League (PSL). This is the second time in the last 18 months the tournament has been shelved. A senior official said that the bidding process would resume in two to three months and the plan was to now launch the T20 franchise-based event in December, 2015. The bid committee which was to carry out sale of wholesale rights of the PSL was not satisfied with the bids they had received so far, added the official person. The official person said that they have found the appropriate window for the PSL in December and January 2015/16. The official who was involved in the bidding process dissolved fears that the second cancellation of the PSL would result in a loss of integrity of the event and PCB. He said that this time they did not cancel the event this time, cancelled the process to award rights and they cleared it to the parties who were involved in it. He also announced that they got bids from two parties, one is a subsidiary of the Ebraaj group in the UAE and the other was a joint bid from Haier Pakistan, a leading company which deals in production and manufacturing of electronic appliances. Both have also submitted the initial guarantee amounts of USD 3 million each to show their financial strength but the bid committee is still not convinced as yet about their viability and whether they should be awarded 15 years` rights of the PSL which includes broadcasting and title sponsorship, the official said. The official said that they planned to start the PSL in January, 2015 in Dubai and started the bidding process in April. PSL submitted an application in the court for the second time requesting the PCB be given permission to hold the process for sale of PSL.
