South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton De Kock does not see any difference between the the red cherry and pink ball. He feels team should play according to the situation af the match instead of focusing on the colour of the ball.
“I didn’t find any difference. I am not one to overthink it. A ball is a ball. I just play the way I should be playing in that situation; it’s no difference to me,” de Kock said.
Talking about his performance in the warm-up match, de Kock said, “It doesn’t bother me whether I score a duck or a hundred. To me a warm-up game and a net is the same thing. When it comes to game time and focus time, I like to contribute where I can.”
De Kock also dismissed the fact that it was difficult to play at night, especially when the artificial light take full effect. “I thought it was quite nice during the twilight period, actually,” he said. Fast bowler Kyle Abbott in fact said that the ball seems to nip around a bit more around that time.
South Africa played a two-day day-night warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI (CA XI) at Adelaide. South Africa fared quite well. Quinton de Kock scored a century in the warm-up match. South Africa will play a day-night Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval between November 24-28.
