It is widely believed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a big role in helping Ravichandran Ashwin become a star for the Indian team. While it will be absolutely wrong to undermine the hard work done by the spinner, it is quite safe to say that that the off-spinner always had the backing of his captain. Dhoni retained Ashwin in the team even after his continuous failures in overseas conditions but one can say that the Tamil Nadu bowler has justified his captain’s belief in him. Ashwin is now performing in all conditions and has become one of the most important members of the Indian team.
And so earlier this year when he said that Sourav Ganguly is the best Indian captain, he received a lot of flak from some fans. And now some fans on Twitter tried to take a dig at him by saying that he was the one who said that he would die on the field if his ‘captain cool’ asks him.
However, the statement was misinterpreted as Ashwin did not mention the name of any captain.
During the Bangladesh last year, Ashwin had said: “If my captain asks me to die on the field, I’ll do it. It’s not just now, any captain you have to go behind him. If he asks you to die on the field, then you have to be prepared to do it.”
@ImAbhishek_ do you know that same @ashwinravi99 had told that.."if my captain cool ask me to die I'll die now itself"..enough said!!!

The post did not go down too well with the spinner and retaliated by saying:“Hey!! When did I say that? You guys have made up things!! Don’t misinterpret for your gains!”
