India’s ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has completed 400 international wickets. He now has 401 wickets overall. He also has become the sixth Indian bowler to complete 400 international wickets. The other Indians to take 400 wickets in international cricket are Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Javagal Srinath.
Ravi Ashwin is one of the best spinners in the world at the present moment. In the past one and a half years, he has been a match-winner for the Indian test team. He has won 6 man-of-the-series awards which are most by an Indian player.
He has taken 207 Test wickets in 38 matches. He became the second fastest bowler to pick 200 wickets in test matches. Most of his wickets have come in Indian conditions. Overall he has 19 five wickets haul followed by 5 ten wickets haul in Test cricket He is currently the second-ranked bowler in the world. His batting credentials are useful for the team in lower order.
In ODI format, he has played 102 matches taking 142 wickets. His economy in ODI format is 4.85 which is brilliant for a spinner in modern day cricket. He can bowl with the new ball and also turn the ball.
In T20 format he has played 45 matches in which he has taken 52 wickets. His economy in that format too is 6.91.
With Ashwin being the go-to bowler for the Indian team in every format, if he continues to perform like this in every format, then India might get a genuine all rounder
