Rajasthan Royals’ Indirect Message To BCCI After Sanju Samson’s Drop Out
On 21st November, India announced the T20I and ODI squad for the West Indies series. The surprising announcement was the dropping of wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson from the T20I squad.
The 25-year-old made the debut for the Indian team in 2015. On 19th July 2015, he played his first T20I against Zimbabwe. He was recently recalled to the national side during Bangladesh series but he was not selected in the playing XI. Now, he has been again dropped from the T20I squad for the forthcoming West Indies series. It would be shocking for the wicketkeeper-batsman.
Rajasthan Royals backs Sanju Samson
Rajasthan Royals (RR) player Sanju Samson is backed by the franchise. On Thursday (21st November), RR posted the video of Sanju Samson where he can be seen hitting boundaries. Many fans have supported the player and has questioned the selection committee for his drop out.
The franchise posted the video with the message ” this is how Sanju Samson destroys bowling attacks.”
The wicket-keeper played 12 matches for RR in the IPL 2019. He scored 342 runs for the team with a century.
Sanju Samson has played 146 T20s and scored 3465 runs, including two centuries, with an average of 27.50. He is currently playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Kerala.
Rishabh Pant has maintained his position
The wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been given the chance once again in the squad against West Indies series. The team management is backing the youngster to get back in his form. He has played 23 T20Is for India but has unimpressive figures.
Against Bangladesh in the recently concluded T20I series, Rishabh Pant was neither good with the bat nor with his gloves. In the three-match T20I series, he just scored 33 runs. However, the youngster is still the first priority for the wicket-keeper batsman.
India will play three-match T20I and three-match ODI series against West Indies, starting from 6 December.
