The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman from Pakistan, Kamran Akmal featured in the finale against CSK. Kamran had played only six games in the inaugural edition, scoring 128 runs at a strike rate of 164.1. In the finals, Kamran batted at one drop, hitting six off seven balls before getting run out off a direct throw from Makhaya Ntini. Rajasthan, who was chasing 164 wanted Kamran to get going and find runs at will; however, it didn’t help, as he lost his wicket after the first PP.

Meanwhile, Kamran had been Pakistan’s elected wicketkeeper during his heydeys. Though he had been at the centre of the controversies most of the times, Akmal has featured in 157 ODIs, 53 Tests and 57 T20Is; with his last appearance coming in April 2017 against Windies. Right now, the 37-year old is representing Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 2019.
