Zaheer Khan:
Zaheer Khan got the place int he Indian team when Javagal Srinath was at the end of his career. He successfully led the pacer battery for over a decade against all the odds during his career.
Former Indian pacer was part of all of the important victories of India. He played a crucial role in India winning 2007, and 2009 Test series win in England and New Zealand and of-course the 2011 World Cup where he constantly gave essential breakthroughs in the middle-overs.
He was in and out of the team because of injuries but managed to make strong comebacks. He has played 200 ODIs and 92 Tests, picking 282 and 311 wickets respectively. He deserved to be awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for his contribution at crucial stages.
