Former Pakistan batsman and TV commentator Rameez Raja has raised his doubts over the return of Mohammad Aamir in the Pakistan side. Aamir is set to be a part of the Pakistan team for the upcoming limited-overs tour of New Zealand, commencing from the 15th of January. Raja, in his conversation with reporters, said that it will be difficult for Aamir to make a comeback and he will be under immense pressure.

“I am not surprised once the cricket board had taken a policy decision to give Aamer a second chance. But we have to see how he performs because there will be a lot of pressure on him and everything he does will be scrutinised. We have to see what is his form is in international cricket,” Raja said. Recently, the outspoken commentator was also in the news for his verbal spat with former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf, when the two argued over the same issue.

“The thing is that cricket has advanced a lot since he (Aamer) last played in international cricket. ODIs and T20 cricket have changed a lot and we have to see how he adopts to the changed scenario now,” he said.   “I am surprised at Irfan not being in T20 squad. I would pick him in both formats since he is a match winner,” Raja said.
