Bangladesh Permier League 2019/20: Rangpur Rangers Choose Mohammad Nabi As The Captain

Rangpur Rangers have handed over the captaincy to Mohammad Nabi in the upcoming seventh edition of Bangladesh Premier League. The franchise has high expectation from experienced Afghanistan player to hand over the trophy of this season to the team.
In 2013, Nabi started his journey in the BPL with Sylhet Royals. In his maiden season, he made an impact in the Bangladesh Premier League as he was the leading wicket-taker of his team with 18 wickets in his name. He shifted his base to Ragupur Riders (now renamed as Rangpur Rangers), in 2015. He was not productive for the franchise as he only managed to pick up 7 wickets and scored just 37 runs.
In 2016, the off-spinner gave his best for Chittagong Vikings as he picked 19 wickets and also struck his first half-century in BPL. The experienced T20 player has been again signed by Rangpur Rangers after he was traded to Comilla Victorians in 2017.
Rangpur Rangers have won their only title in 2017 under the captaincy of Mashrafe Mortaza who was released by the franchise after the sixth season. Mohammad Nabi, who is currently in good form, will be expected to give his best to the team.
Mohammad Nabi has huge experiences
Nabi has participated in many T20 leagues in cricket World. In Indian Premier League, the allrounder has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has also played in Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League and Pakistan Super League.
The 34-year-old is the most experienced player in the Afghanistan national cricket team. He has played 124 ODIs and scored 2782 runs. In 238 T20s, he has scored 3617 runs and picked 239 wickets. He was also the part of Delhi Bulls in Abu Dhabi T10 league in 2019. The player has been always the backbone for his country in the big tournaments.
