Punjab got back to winning ways as they defeated Goa by an innings and 133 runs in their third group stage match in at Porvorim, Goa. Punjab in the first innings had three centurions in Jiwanjot Singh, Anmolpreet Singh and Gurkeerat Singh Mann. Jiwanjot celebrated his India ‘A’ call-up with a fantastic 238 in the first innings. Shadab Jakati took a five-for in the first innings for Goa.
Raghu Sharma took eight wickets in the match for Punjab to spin the match in Punjab’s favour. Punjab was without the services of Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh in the match. Punjab got their first win of the season.
Unlike Punjab, Mumbai is still waiting for their first win of the season as they could only manage a draw against Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu took three points from the match by their first innings lead. Prithvi Shaw proved his potential once again scoring a brilliant century in the first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin could only pick up three wickets in the match.
