KL Rahul

KL Rahul is on the verge of making his way back in Indian setup after scoring a magnificent ton against Rajasthan in the ongoing season of Ranji Tropy 2016-17. Rahul managed an impressive 106 runs in just 131 balls, which featured 13 fours and four sixes at a devastating strike rate of 81.

The right-hander was forced to leave the team in the middle of the Test series against New Zealand after suffering hamstring injury, which paved way for Gautam Gambhir to make a comeback to team India after two years.

The southpaw looked impressive in the Indore Test against New Zealand but failed to replicate similar form against England in the Rajkot Test which might prove to be a turning point in his hopes of cementing the place in Test team. He got out on a duck in the second innings and scored just 29 in first.

Indian coach Anil Kumble has asked young KL Rahul to play in domestic circuit and prove his fitness and form, which would be the way to earn a call back into Indian team.

Rahul, who has emerged as one of the most complete batsmen for India post T20 World Cup, scored an impressive 76 in the first innings as well. He’ll be keen to reclaim his place in across all three formats.

Meanwhile, Gambhir would be looking to strike some form in the Vizag Test, which might help his cause of staying in the scheme of things as far as Test cricket is concerned.
