The 23-year old Kerala batsman Sanju Samson is back knocking at the national team doors once again. The elegant right-hander has grabbed the eyeballs of the national selectors with some outstanding performances in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.
Sanju Samson got a huge boost in the matter, as Chairman of selectors MSK Prasad hinted about his consideration for the player in the national team in a chat with The Times of India. Prasad mentioned the youngster could make his comeback very soon and it could be the Sri Lanka series itself.
“It’s good to see that Sanju Samson has been amongst the runs this season. He has been consistent. It augurs well for him, and it’s good for us since we will have more options to deliberate on,” he was reported as saying.
Sanju Samson broke into the limelight with his dazzling performances for the Rajasthan Royals in the lucrative Indian Premier League in 2013. He continued his impeccable form in the 2014 season too and showed signs of a star in the making.

Samson was called up into the Indian squad as a back up for the MS Dhoni for the series against England in 2014. However, he made his debut in the blue colours of India in 2015 when he played his first and only T20I game against Zimbabwe.
Samson has stormed the current Ranji season, as he acquired 561 runs in five matches with an astonishing average of 62.33. The promising talent also scored a magnificent ton in the iconic 10th edition of the Indian Premier League early this year. The player could get his opportunity right away in the Sri Lanka series if the selectors think of giving some senior players a much-deserved rest. The highly awaited South Africa series could also be a chance for Samson to prove his worth and make his mark.
