Rasool Jadeja Ranji trophy

Jammu and Kashmir Ranji Trophy team will play their opening encounter against Rajasthan without even attending a single practice session. The team is yet to arrive in the state for their opening fixture, and as per the schedule, they will reach Jaipur on the eve of the game,

“We are taking an 11.00am flight from Srinagar to New Delhi on Thursday. From Delhi, we are travelling by bus to Jaipur, which is around a five to six-hour drive, so there won’t be time for practice,” a member of the team told The Hindustan Times.

It comes as a big surprise as BCCI has done their best in past many years to provide best facilities to even the junior sides and this sort of news has opened up the loopholes in the board. Already, the J&K team was pondering to pull out of the Ranji Trophy due to a cash crunch and now, this news hinders the success of the team.

Just before the start of the season, there is another controversy for the J&k side, as Mithun Manhas, the coach of the team has refused to join the camp till Rasool is the skipper, a report in The Greater Kashmir suggests.

Manhas joined the side before the start of the 2015/16 season as a player, mentor and coach but now, the association is keen to have him as coach only, which means that he will not play.

J&K is to play their first game tomorrow (October 6), and still, they are looking for a captain, despite having Rasool in the side.

Parvez Rasool also confirmed the news, as he said he has learnt about being removed from captaincy,

“I have also learnt from various quarters unofficially that I have been replaced. But officially there is no communiqué from JKCA end. I have lead JK Ranji team from last several years and if they want to replace me then they should uniform me well in advance,” he told the Greater Kashmir.

The chaos in the team is expected to be solved by today when the team reaches Delhi and then travel to Jaipur by road.
