Jadeja was earlier included in the Saurashtra side for their opening game of the season against Haryana, which is to be played in Lahli. However, the all-rounder has withdrawn from the game due to marriage function in the family.
Jadeja would have been playing for India in the T20I series against Australia if he was selected in the team. Despite performing well, the selectors didn’t select the all-rounder as they have now opted a new strategy of giving chances to youngsters.
The trio of Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been doing well in the absence of Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Their performances have meant that there is no space for Jadeja and Ashwin, who were the leaders of spin department till the Windies series.
Both of them were rested for the limited over series against Sri Lanka. Though Jadeja was called in the India team for the first three ODIs against Austalia after an injury to Axar, he saw himself being dropped as soon as Axar got fit.
He wasn’t even given a single chance, which tells that Indian skipper Virat Kohli is looking forward to forming a new spin pair in limited overs cricket.
Jadeja, however, is a permanent member of the team in the longest format of the game, so as Ashwin because out of three spinners who are currently part of the team, only Kuldeep has played Test cricket and he too only has an experience of just two games.
