At stumps on day three of the Ranji Trophy 2017-18 Quarter-final match in Nagpur, Mumbai in seconds innings managed to post 120 for three in 44 overs, as Karnataka has further tightened the firm grip over struggling Aditya Tare’s side.

Krishanappa Gowtham claimed two wickets after conceding 30 runs in 16 overs.

Mumbai is trailing by 277 runs.

Fast bowler Sreenath Aravind picked the prized scalp of the promising youngster and opening batsman Prithvi Shaw (14 off 27).

Jay Gokul Bista was bowled by Gowtham on 20 off 30 balls, and Akhil Herwadkar managed to score 80-ball 27, before being caught by Kaunain Abbas on the bowling of off-spinner Gowtham. Suryakumar Yadav is batting on 55 off 115 balls. His innings consisted of seven boundaries and a maximum.

Akash Parkar took 12 balls to score three.

Earlier, Karnataka resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 395 for six which further saw them posting a mammoth 570 in 163.3 overs. Shreyas Gopal remained unbeaten on 150 off 274, as his innings was comprised of 11 boundaries.

Interestingly, Sreenath Aravind smashed 41-ball 51. He struck nine boundaries and a solitary six. As Shivam Dubey claimed five wickets on the second day, Dhawal Kulkarni picked two wickets on day three, and Shivam Malhotra managed to pick two wickets on Saturday (December 9) after claiming the wicket of opener Mayank Agarwal on Friday).

Karnataka requires another seven wickets to win the quarter-final.

Gujarat Vs Bengal:

After starting from the overnight score of 180 for six Parthiv Patel-led side was bundled out on 224 in 74.5 overs. The bowling department saw the fast bowling spearhead, Ashok Dinda, completing the figures with three for 48 in 18 overs. Ishan Porel and Doddupalli Amit also claimed three wickets each, as Pradipta Pramaik bagged the wicket of Rujul Bhatt.

However, Piyush Chawla added crucial 43 off 75 balls which included six boundaries. In second innings, Bengal is going from strength to strength in the second inning which saw them registering 177 for one in 73 overs.

Opening batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran is on the verge of another century. He smashed unbeaten 93 off 218 balls, as Writtick Chatterjee is batting on 40 off 103 balls. In Jaipur, Bengal is leading by 307 runs in second innings.

Delhi Vs Madhya Pradesh:

Madhya Pradesh is trailing by 20 runs, as Devendra Bundela-led side lost both the openers before the bails were removed from the stumps on day three.

Opening batsman Ankit Dane scored 16 off 41 balls, as his run out was affected by Vikas Tokas and on the other side Rajat Patidar was caught and bowled by Toyas on five after facing eight balls. Shubham Sharma is batting on 49-ball 25, and Puneet Datey is yet to open his account after facing ten balls.

Earlier, Delhi completed their first innings in 119.4 overs while posting 405 as the total. On day four Delhi added 225 runs which saw them losing eight wickets.

In Vijayawada, Delhi took the first innings lead of 77 runs against Madhya Pradesh. For Madhya Pradesh, the 23-year-old leg-spinner Mihir Hirwani claimed the five-wicket haul after conceding 89 runs in 27.4 overs.

Kerala Vs Vidarbha:

Kerala was bundled out 176 in 61.5 overs. The chief architect with the ball for Vidarbha was Rajneesh Gurbani who bagged five-wicket haul. He conceded 38 runs in 14 overs. In second innings, Vidarbha scored 77 for one in 30 overs and eventually extended the lead of 147 runs in the second innings.

Jalal Saxena picked the solitary wicket of opening batsman Sanjay Ramaswamy, who faced 48 balls to score 14 runs. Moreover, Vidarbha skipper Faiz Faizal is batting on 51 off 90 balls. He struck four boundaries, and Akshay Wakhare remained not out on seven off 44 balls.
