Group A game between Mumbai and Bengal ended in an interesting draw. This game was one of the biggest highlights of this round as Mumbai made an immediate impact on day one by dismissing Bengal on just  a score of 99. Shardul Thakur was the bowler who shone for Mumbai as he scalped six wickets. Mumbai could just bat for 58 overs in the second innings of the game scoring 229 runs, 139 runs ahead of Bengal. The best part of this game was yet to came as Bengal made a drastic change in their innings and piled up 437 runs on the board with Sudip Chatterjee scoring 130 and Skipper Manoj Tiwary smashing 169 runs. Mumbai had to chase 308 runs in the final innings which they could not do due to a shortage of time but Bengal too had a chance of winning the game as they had to get just four-wicket to seal a win against defending champions. It can be said that both the team failed against the race against time and it was Mumbai who went away wth 3 points by virtue of gaining its innings lead.

Jharkhand, who was in a comfortable position till the start of the fourth day’s play immediately found themselves in trouble against Assam as the opposition team asked Jharkhand to chase 111 runs on the final day. Though this was a small target but Jharkhand lost half of its side to chase this total. Thanks to the contribution of Anand Singh and Ishank Jaggi who scored 30 and 34 respectively. Jharkhand climbed to the top of the table with this win against Assam.

Prashant Chopra, who is usually known to bat at the pace of a snail, surprised everyone as the former Under 19 cricketer scored 237 runs off just 241 balls helping Himachal Pradesh to pile up 432 runs one the board asking Haryana to chase 264 runs in the final innings but all his efforts were in vain as the game ended in a draw with Haryana getting three points by virtue of gaining the first innings lead. Debutant Guntashveer Singh scored a century for his first four-day game for Haryana.
