The Punjab outfit has not been a consistent team in the leagues since the first edition. They reached the final of the competition a couple of years ago but have never been a team that scares the opponents.
They started the season with South Africa’s David Miller as the skipper but had to appoint Murali Vijay in his place after a string of poor performances from the team. However, the changes in the squad along with injuries to a couple of key players disrupted their flow in the middle of the tournament and 3 back to back losses in the last three games of the group stage saw them glued to the bottom of the table.
